Traditional nitrogen-fixing biofertilizers have suffered from problems of short shelf life and Instability during storage periods. The Azotobacters cyst can be survive and retains for over two years. The inoculums used were preserved in liquid form which has great advantages such as that they can be easily applied through irrigation system; seed treatment and soil application. The microbes move directly into the root zone and become immediately available to the plant and suitable for foliar application, higher quality, and longer shelf-life rather than those of carrier based inoculants. The production technology for biofertilizers is relatively simple and installation cost is very low compared to chemical fertilizer plants. Developing a suitable nutrient management system that integrates use of this kind of inoculants may be a challenge to reach the goal of sustainable agriculture. So the cysts of Azotobacter could be a safely method to develop and modify the bioinoculants forms.
