Avenging al Mohammed is another tale in a series of novels involving FBI intelligence analyst and retired cop, Nicholas J. Brennan. Once again Brennan is assisted by his beautiful, sexy and smart wife, Professor Joann M. Brennan and his old Army boss John Planner. This time the dangerous terrorist organization, the Abd-Allah Network, takes aim on the clever FBI intelligence officer. The AAN has issued a death warrant for Nick to gain revenge for the demise of Bhiren al Mohammed, killed in a gunfight with Brennan in the shadow of the Statue of Liberty in New York a year earlier. When AAN agent Asim, The Protector, detonates a bomb in a security line at JFK International airport the investigation commences. But investigators are tricked by AAN disinformation. At first Brennan is not aware of his status as terrorist prey but as the story unfolds he discovers he is a target and unknown to him early on, so is Joann and their two kids Michael and Elizabeth. The trail takes Brennan, FBI agent Frank Reid, Defense Intelligence analyst Tom Carrillo and NSA supervisory analyst John Planner from the US to Ethiopia, then Karachi, Pakistan and back to New York. The excitement is enhanced when an AAN agent almost kills Nick and his team in a beachfront restaurant in Pakistan. Through careful analysis by Joann, John, Frank and Tom the crew finally figures out AAN's direct connection to the JFK bombing and its connection to an otherwise minor money laundering operation in an Asian district of Brooklyn. They discover that Chinese "smurfs" are the indirect source of money for terrorism operations. As the saga concludes Nick and Joann Brennan must protect themselves as they try to find the evil operative dedicated to killing them. Asim, a talented assassin plans to murder the whole family in their beautiful home after a Saturday morning shopping spree. The yarn includes action, constant scene changes, intelligence work, surveillance, gun fights and intellectual scrutiny.
