At present, existing theoretical models and methods can not accurately describe and effectively regulate the channel hydrodynamics for the case of combination use of multiple gates. In order to solve the problem, this book is intended to develop advanced hydro-response analysis tool, single gate control logic and coordinate regulation method of multiple gates. Through studying hydro-response time, gate opening and its intervals under different gate combination schemes, the book obtained their qualitative rules or quantitative relation, and identified the coupling, nonlinearity, time-varying characteristics and uncertainty factors that affect channel flow, and further reveal water level fluctuation, transmission and attenuation mechanism. On the basis of that, analyses further extended to complex hydraulic boundary conditions (such as inverted siphon, aqueduct and buried culvert et al.) as well as model parameter perturbation (such as node allocation, head loss and discharge coefficient variation et al.). We believe this book can provide support for automatic gates control of long-distance channels with complex inner boundaries.
