This book of monologues will never be complete. I will constantly, as I create them, add additional monologues that come out of KjN On-Camera Studios. I don't work with many actors. Just five or six a month privately at KjN On-Camera Studios, in Carmel, Indiana. I don't hold group workshops anymore. Turns out all my students started working so quickly in plays, TV, internet and films that we couldn't keep a good group together with all the different schedules going on. Then finally the whole male portion of the workshop got cast in the same play. So I went to private teaching only. And that has proved to be the most beneficial for all my students as they pass through here. I can now concentrate one-hundred percent of my energy to help them get to where they need to be as working actors. Acting isn't always hard once an actor gets it. But I find that there are so many little things that actors do that keeps them from being camera ready, that I often end up taking away more than I give them. There are naturals out there; I've seen a few come through here. But for most, regardless of how much work they have done already, it's finding that Hero Face and how to stay there no matter what. I have yet to find an actor who isn't amazed when I first show it to them. Sometimes it's just a minute adjustment of the head or posture. Then pop, they're there. I still get a kick out of seeing it happen every time. For the most part, it's just the "Best Them" they didn't know was there. Their Hero Face. And that's the face that that gets them work. These are the monologue I wrote for them here at KjN On-Camera Studios.
