Atalanta is the story of a young girl who does not want to be married off to a local prince, and instead heads off into the forest to live with the animals. She learns to hunt, run, and take on all that nature throws at her, becoming one of the greatest of the heroes. She overturns expectations of her gender and takes on the strongest of the men- and wins When she does eventually agree to find a partner she challenges the other heroes to be her equal and meets a person who respects her skills and ability. But can he convince her that he is genuine? This book joins the award winning Early Myths collection. Our first two books were Jason & the Golden Fleece, and Perseus, winner a medal at the 2014 Moonbeam Children's Awards. Our third book, Odysseus, has received two awards- an honourable mention at the 2015 Royal Dragonfly Books Awards and a finalist position in the 2015 Wishing Shelf Children's Book Awards.
