Land degradation is a major problem, which reduced the productivity of the land and aggravated the effects of drought. Many efforts were made to reduce land degradation problems. However, the intended results were not obtained, due to lack of sufficient information on sediment yield, which could help to design and plan irrigation dams and soil and water conservation structures.
