This research is regarding bone turnover and its association with vitamin D blood levels in adult females. To date, this is the first study exploring the bone health status of apparently healthy adult females residing in Pakistan measuring bone turnover marker using NTx along with 25OHD and iPTH in blood. The highlighted findings of the research are high bone turnover as depicted by levels of serum NTx. Increased serum NTx is reported in 40.5% of the study population. Bone turnover is high among apparently healthy adult females regardless of vitamin D status. This high bone turnover is one of the mechanisms which can lead to osteoporosis in later life.
