Cicci Lyckow Bäckman was born in Stockholm and started her career with a Master's degree in English and Swedish from Stockholm University. Another keen interest was psychology and inner growth, and when she was diagnosed with a chronic neurological illness in the late 1990's, her interest deepened. She started exploring body-oriented psychotherapy and took part in a number of courses and training seminars. Since 2004, she has created and facilitated her own courses focussing on experiential inner growth. She has also shared her knowledge in three previous books all published in Swedish (2008, 2010 and 2013). In connection with her diagnosis she came across the Enneagram and in 2005, she enrolled in the Riso Hudson Enneagram Training, where she later passed the Certification program with honours. Since starting her journey with the Enneagram, she has filled out and deepened her insights by attending a large number of other workshops and trainings. For a number of years she offered intermittent Enneagram evening classes, but her preferred application is to combine the model with experiential inner growth. Elaborating on this, she designed a training model based expressly on combining experiential inner work with in-depth Enneagram exploration. Her profound insights into inner work make her observations about the Enneagram - and especially the centres and instincts - astute, illuminative and deeply anchored in personal experience.
