Gregory Tate is a Lecturer in Victorian Literature at the University of St Andrews, and a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Thinker. He is the author of two monographs: The Poet's Mind: The Psychology of Victorian Poetry (2012) and Nineteenth-Century Poetry and the Physical Sciences: Poetical Matter (2019). He has also published essays on Alfred Tennyson, Robert Browning, May Kendall, Jane Austen, John Keats, Humphry Davy, and science in the
nineteenth-century press.
