I use the term "archive", which appears repeatedly in the following pages, to refer to a collection of materials that can be understood as documents of something that has happened. It primarily refers to a storage location where documents are collected, organised and made available. In the course of my work, I will discuss philosophical, humanistic and artistic positions on the concept of the archive and explore its metaphorical significance.
