Information retrieval (IR) is the base for cross-language information retrieval (CLIR). It seeks to retrieve relevant documents in a collection of files written in a different language or languages from users queries. In other words, the goal of a CLIR system is to link the language boundary by providing access in one language to documents written in another language(s) located in the database. The aim of this research was to develop an automatic cross-lingual information retrieval system that is capable of retrieving relevant information from a set of documents written in English based on the users queries, written in the Arabic language. This Research used various techniques such as Google Translator API and Vector Space Model. The research revealed Arabic native speakers get better results when searching an English dataset using queries from their own language.
