This book presents an overview of human models, emphasizing their applications, constraints and objectives in industry. Regarding the increase of importance of the human aspects, it stresses that the conventional human models are not adapted to respond to analysis requirements during concurrent design. Concurrent design is a design management approach, characterized by a wide application of integrated multi-software platforms and human models should be improved for being used in this platform. Faced with this challenge, this book proposes combining various human models in a dynamic and adaptive multi-agent/multi-scale architecture. This approach will be adapted for use in 3D and virtual reality platforms, to model and analyze human aspects in parallel with the technical aspects. The proposed architecture is exemplified by modeling a human walking scenario, taking into account alternatives related to the load carried and the existence of threats in the workplace.
