The most important requirement of mobile communication and computing is the unlimited mobility i.e. the user can communicate anywhere within the coverage area of the network. There are two versions of mobile wireless networks, the first one is an infrastructure based network where the last hop may be wireless and the other a multihop ad hoc wireless network that has no infrastructure this evolves the concept of ad hoc network. Mobile ad hoc network (MANET) has numerous applications in modern communication system (disaster management system, military application and many others). Spectrum is very precise parameter for such type of communication. So to enhance the application of MANET it is necessary to improve the spectral efficiency of the mobile ad hoc network. Hence arises the necessity of Multiple Input Multiple Output technology with MANET. MIMO is an antenna technology where multiple antennas are used in transmitter as well as receiver. To improve the spectral efficiency, MIMO antenna elements are integrated to the MANET in the communication system. The primary aim of this book is to analyze the performance of the MIMO integrated MANET for improvement of spectral efficiency.
