I am no expert. However, the following instruction I am getting out of the Bible. I believe in the Bible, and believe that if we as American citizens improve our moral compass, we can improve to once again become the most respected and feared industry, military and governmental system in the world. God has a special place for America. I know he was talking about Israel when he spoke of the land of milk and honey, but I believe he was thinking of America also. When we do what is right, God blesses us. When we do what is wrong, he finds a way to tell us what is right. In Revelation 21:8, the Bible states that " the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whore mongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." That says to me that you have to follow the laws to live a life worthy of being called a Christian; or you are going to burn. However, know I am placing a value on the laws and instruction that God gave us humans. A Chaplain will probably cut this book down because of my emphasis on the laws for homeland security. A Pastor would say, "this is not what Paul would want." Well, what would Jesus want. We put so much emphasis every where else in the Bible but what did Jesus say in Matthew? Did Jesus not want us to do what is right. And, is what is right not defined by what laws were given us by God. Now, Jesus did not want us to go around and think we were going to heaven on our own because we followed the laws, but through him and his dying on the cross. But, if you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, why not take it a step further and try to live a life like him. If you live a life like him, then you have to live without sin, at least the best way possible. I accept that there are weaknesses in my writing, but I will never concede that there is no longer value in words that God gave us through such men as Moses, Isaiah, and Christ. Christ himself showed his respect for the laws when he stepped up for a woman about to get stoned for adultery. He said to the woman, go and sin no more. The Bible is about the New Testament and the Old Testament, and to discount one part is taking away from the whole.
