Gavin J. Andrews is Professor and Chair, Department of Health Aging and Society at McMaster University. Recent publications include Sociology of Ageing: A Reader (Rawat, 2008) and Primary Health Care: People, Practice, Place (Ashgate, 2008).

David R. Phillips is Chair Professor of Social Policy and Academic Dean of Social Sciences at Lingnan University in Hong Kong. Recent edited books include Ageing in the Asia-Pacific Region (Routledge, 2000) and Ageing and Long-term Care: National Policies in the Asia-Pacific (IDRC and Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, 2002).
