The application of botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A) is the most performed aesthetic procedure in the world. There is no consensus on the ideal way to perform this application, which defines the application sites and the ideal amount needed for this treatment. This book describes the author's initial 7-year experience in treating the upper third of the face in women and the variations performed. The study presents the definitions and concepts of beauty, the entire anatomical description of the facial muscles whose treatment is recommended, the physiology of botulinum toxin, and the studies already published on the subject, in a summarized manner, compiled with works since the 1980s.The text culminates with the proposal of a technique for standardization, which the author has been using for over 10 years, whose goal is to offer a treatment with a natural result, improving considerably the rhytids of the upper third of the face, with fewer units and a lower complication rate, when compared to the literature. He also emphasizes the importance of minimizing the risks of aesthetic treatment, facilitating the management of the clinic from a practical and even financial point of view.
