Scot Simpson has 30 years′ experience in residential and commercial construction and has been president of his construction firm for 22 years. He developed and refined the course of instruction in this book as a method for training his own crews. Scot has written numerous articles for construction publications, and worked with the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute to produce a framing video. He has a Master′s Degree in Business Administration and is a member of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). He has framed houses, apartments, hotels, schools, fire stations, shopping centers, and other commercial buildings.
