This study sheds light on the administrative problems faced by theater and oral arts associations in Porto-Novo, Benin. Organizational and structural factors determining administrative management within these associations were analyzed. Henry Mintzberg's typology of organizational structures was applied.Members' lack of administrative writing skills, unilateral, almost centralized management, difficulties in collaborating between sister associations and the low level of public investment in the arts and culture sector are the major weaknesses raised and scrutinized by the players in the course of this work.
