In contemporary societies we rely on information to perform daily activities and largely communicate ideas both at local and international levels for successful execution of our routine responsibilities. Information and knowledge sharing and transfer from one generation to another improve our communal activities and engagements, corporate cognitive experiences, and scientific communications. Therefore, Governmental policy formulation and implementation, educational development/management, and research activities, are all dependent on effective information transfer between individuals. The use of modern technologies referred to as (ICTs) enables the efficiency of our daily information transfer and retrieval processes, thereby revitalizing and strengthening this phase of development in our societies. These technologies have transformed the patterns used by individuals for information and knowledge seeking and have equipped people with the required gadgets for exploring information in different forms and formats. This document highlights issues relating to the application of ICTs in information and knowledge sharing.

Sani Abdu Fari is a lecturer, author and entrepreneur. A man with varied working experience in various institutions, he has worked as teacher librarian in high school, lecturer at H.U.K. Polytechnic, currently lecturer and Deputy Dean Faculty of Education Umaru Musa Yar'adua University Katsina, Nigeria. Obtained his PhD from Unizulu, South Africa.
