Angelica has a 150-pound Newfoundland dog named Bear that she loves dearly. But Bear is getting old and has trouble standing up and going outside to do his business. He barks, and Angelica helps him by putting a lifting arm under his body. "Angelica, when you go back to school this fall," says her mother, "there will be no one home to help, and Bear will start peeing in the house. So Bear will have to be put to sleep."
