Aero-acoustics is a branch of acoustics that studies noise generation via either turbulent fluid motion or aerodynamic forces interacting with surfaces. Noise generation can also be associated with periodically varying flows. There is a strong need to analyze aeroacoustis behaviour of wind turbines and to find noise reducing design concepts in order to increase public acceptance of wind energy. In this project the aeroacoustic analysis of wind turbine propeller is done by using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) techniques. The model of wind turbine rotor is developed using CAD software which is then imported to Gambit. Gambit is utilized to create a discretized computational domain around the wind turbine rotor. The discretized model is successfully imported to Fluent software where the unsteady simulation is coupled with Broadband noise source model. The results are then extracted from the simulation.
