Sadiya, (meaning: Sa-Corpse, Diya-Given) was the third capital of Chutiya Kingdom established by second Chutiya ruler Ratnadhwaj Pal in 1248 and remained as the capital till 1524. It is located in Tinsukia district of the North-Eastern state of Assam. It stands on a grassy plain, nearly surrounded by forested Himalayan mountains, on the right bank of Brahmaputra river. Sadiya is famous for a flower named Sotful (Meaning: Blessing) which is much like Jasmine.
