The aim of the book was to examine the association between exposure to lead at the battery manufacturing plant in Baghdad/Iraq and the plasma lipid profile. Given the limitations of the study, we were able to find an association between exposure to lead at work and abnormal serum lipid profile. More studies are needed to examine the mechanism behind that association. In addition, more studies are needed to study the effect of adherence to personal protective measures on blood lead level and serum lipid profile.
