The study describes the nature and causes of crimes in educated youth of Pakistan. The population for research was educated prisoners, experts, justice, education, crime controlling officials and students of different educational institutions of Pakistan. Pilot testing was made in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The objectives of study included: a) Character traits of the youth between 15-25 years. b) Types of crimes committed by educated youth. c) Forces and factors pushing the youth in crimes. d) Role of education system on the behavior of the youth. e) Role of crime controlling agency fro minimizing the crime. The researcher collected information through questionnaires from prisoners, experts, educators, crime controlling agencies, justice of courts and students in the provincial capitals and Islamabad. Structured interviews were also conducted from educated prisoners and crime controlling officials in Jails/ Prisons. Common crimes in educated criminals were Dacoity, Attempt to Murder, Sexual Violation and use of alcohol and Narcotics. It is also found through research that the behaviour of educated criminals is better than uneducated criminals.
