A down to earth turtle named Sam had a conversation with his friend Tam about a race. The conceited, boastful Hare bragged to Sam about beating him in a race. Sam thought about it and took Tam up on his bet to prove a point. Tam began to laugh and mocked Sam because Sam knew he was too slow to win the race. Tam began the race, and told Sam "Let's Begin." When the race began Tam decided to take a nap because he knew that he would wake up and still have time to pass Sam in the race. While Tam is napping, Sam is walking the race and he tells himself he is getting there and he gives himself hope, as he gets closer. Sam still continues to give himself hope. Tam is enjoying his nap and is so sure that Sam will never make it to the finish line before him. Meanwhile, Tam dreams that he is already at the finish line. Sam gets closer as he approaches the finish line. Sam feels that he is so far from the finish line, but he is determined to continue and finish the race no matter what. While Tam is in his deep sleep, Sam finally makes it to the finish line. Tam wakes up in shock because he saw Sam cross the finish line. The Moral of the story is...the race is not for the swift, but the one who can endure to the end.
