A SUMMARY: Revelation Chapters 1-5 were given to John in chronological order, and are explained as they will unfold in this book. In Revelation Chapters 4 and 5, the Church is in Heaven worshiping Christ. The Church is represented by the 24 elders in this vision, who are from every tribe, tongue and nation under heaven, not just redeemed Jews. Revelation Chapter 6 is AN OVERVIEW OF THE ENTIRE TRIBULATION from Man's Perspective (like Daniel chapter 2 is for the Book of Daniel). After Chapter 6, the Chronological Order will be: AT THE BEGINNING OF THE TRIBULATION: 1. Revelation Chapters 10 & 11 through verse 14- The Tribulation Temple is built and the ministry of the Two Witnesses takes place for 3 1/2 years. By the time the Tribulation begins, all religions will have been absorbed into Roman Catholicism and the Pope will be the most revered man on earth. The Antichrist will start out as a disciple and protege of the Pope. He will rise to power through the military ranks of the EU for 3 1/2 years. The False Prophet will kill the Two Witnesses near the mid-way point of the Tribulation. 2. Revelation Chapter 7- Revelation 6:17 asks, -Who shall be able to stand?- Revelation Chapter 7 answers that question. It shows a vision of the saving and sealing of the 144,000 Jewish Witnesses (the first fruits of the ministry of the Two Witnesses- Moses and Elijah) and the winning of a great Gentile multitude. 3. Revelation 8 & 9- The -One Third- Judgments in Revelation Chapter 8 (the Beginning of Sorrows in Matthew 24:4-8) and the Invasion of Demonic Locusts in Revelation Chapter 9- The angel of the bottomless pit is introduced, who turns out to be the False Prophet in Revelation 17:8. This is the first 3 1/2 years of the Tribulation Period. AT THE MIDWAY POINT: 4. A Transition Takes Place- As the Antichrist gains world power, the False Prophet comes to his side to form a Satanic Super-Team. There is no room for the Pope on their team. A war takes place. A public challenge is issued to the Pope (much like in 2 Kings 18) and the False Prophet calls down fire from heaven upon the Vatican, destroying Catholicism and their competition. The world then wonders after the beast, and before long, the Pope receives the mark. 5. Revelation 17-18- The Judgment of the Great Whore and Vatican City takes place (the lost religious world is transitioned from Catholicism to worshiping the beast. The merchants mourn as the Vatican burns.). 6. Revelation 12-13 (Parenthetical Chapters) Introduces the main characters of the Great Tribulation- Israel, Satan, Christ, the Antichrist and the False Prophet. FROM THE MIDDLE TO THE END OF THE GREAT TRIBULATION: 7. Revelation 11:15-19, then Chapters 14-16- God's wrath is poured out in full strength upon the kingdom of the beast- culminating in the Battle of Armageddon. 8. Revelation 19 & 20:1-3- The Marriage Supper Of The Lamb & the Second Coming- After Christ returns, an interval of 75 days takes place before the Millennial Kingdom begins (Daniel 12:12). Satan is imprisoned & all unbelievers are removed from earth. 9. Revelation 20:4-6 & Chapters 21-22- The Millennial Kingdom Age- Lasts for 1000 years upon this earth, with Jesus ruling and reigning from Jerusalem. 10. Revelation 20:7-10- The Last Rebellion- When the 1000 years are finished, Satan will be loosed from the bottomless pit and will go out and deceive all of mankind who refused to receive Christ during the Millennial Kingdom Age. These will be devoured by fire. 11. Revelation 20:11-15- The Great White Throne Judgment of the Lost- After the heavens and earth are dissolved (see 2 Peter 3:10-13), the lost will be sentenced individually to varying degrees of eternal punishment in the lake of fire. *Appendix- A Study of Abraham's Bosom- the abode of all Old Testament saints before Calvary. Only the blood of Christ can wash away sin.
