Adhesive dentistry has been progressing over the past decade with rapid pace. Nowadays Composite resin is the most aesthetic restorative material available for restoring teeth. Inspite of its use since a decade, still failure cases are seen, mainly due to polymerization shrinkage and inadequate adhesion to cavity walls, leading to microleakage. Many advances have been made in dentin bonding technology to overcome the shortcoming of composite resin.Recently, further simplification has been achieved by introduction of dual cured and self cured bonding agent. It works both in self-cured and light cured mode. It is available as single dose delivery system and prevents evaporation of solvent that is a common problem in a variety of other bonding systems. It ensures an immediately stick effect which guarantees that the bond will not be broken out of the cavity while air drying is done. There is formation of a combined stress breaking area and hybrid layer of 9 microns in size. This provides a superior marginal integrity and protection against sensitivities.
