A Guidebook on Urban and Regional Planning is an introductory book for the students and interested people whose mother tongue is not English and wish to study and pursue their education in the field of Urban and Regional Planning and the related topics such as Urban Design, Architecture, and Urban Management. The book consists of 20 units, in which 20 different related subjects have been selected and presented together with illustrated figures, tables and diagrams where necessary and helpful. The aim of the book is to help the eager people to both learn about the topic raised in the field of Urban and Regional Planning and the related fields and at the same time understand the specialized words and terms that they may come through in the books and articles they need to read. At the end of each unit the student exercises have been presented to help the students and other readers to have better understanding of what they have read and try to have an evaluation of their endeavor. These exercises have been given as tests, questions and vocabulary practices.

Ali Khaksari (Ph.D.): received an MA at Waterloo University and a Ph.D. at UWCC, now an Associate Professor at Allameh Tabataba'i University in Tehran Iran. His areas of interests include: Urban and Regional Planning, Transportation and Traffic Planning and Management, Tourism Development Planning and Environmental Issues of Cities.
