Haas, AlexanderProfessor for Zoology and Curator of Herpetology at the Leibniz Institute for the Analysis of Biodiversity Change. He developed an interest in herpetology early on and luckily could pursue the topic in his professional career. He studied at Universität Tübingen and University of California Berkeley and received his doctorate degree from Universität Tübingen, Germany. Mainly trained as morphologist, he fell in love with the rainforest and frogs on the island of Borneo in 2001 and has pursued biodiversity research topics there since. His scientific work includes many international journal articles. Haas conducted field work in Argentina, Australia, European countries, Indonesia, Malaysia. and USA. Das, IndraneilProfessor at the Institute of Biodiversity and Environmental Conservation, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak. Received his D.Phil. from the University of Oxford, and was a Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellow at the Museum of Comparative Zoology, Harvard University. His current research interest includes systematic zoology, community ecology, conservation biology, biogeography, history of natural history, and palaeontology. Das' field work has been in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, China, France, Great Britain, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, U.S.A. and Vietnam. Hertwig, Stefan T.Curator of Herpetology, Natural History Museum Bern, and Lecturer for Zoology and Phylogenetics, University of Bern. He began his herpetological career at the age of six and has remained true to this passion until today. He received his doctorate degree from Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena. His research focuses on the evolution, phylogeny, and biogeography of the fascinating diversity of amphibians in Southeast Asia. Since his first experience with Borneo in 2003, he has led numerous expeditions to this island. He also gained experience in herpetological fieldwork in many European countries, Botswana and Namibia, Kazakhstan, USA, and Venezuela. Bublies, PiaProfessor for Science Illustration at the University of Applied Sciences Hamburg (HAW). After studying communication design and illustration, he developed an enduring enthusiasm for knowledge transfer as a freelance illustrator. After several years of practical journalistic work as head of department for illustration and infographics at the weekly newspaper DIE WOCHE, and GEO, he was appointed to the HAW Hamburg. Since then, he has been interested in the development of epistemic models that use innovative methods, such as 3D illustrations, virtual reality and augmented reality to find new ways of communicating science. Schulz-Schaeffer, ReinhardFreelance illustrator and infographic designer. After three terms of Communication Design at the Institute of Design Hamburg, she changed to The University of Applied Sciences Hamburg to study illustration under the supervision of Prof. Reinhard Schulz-Schaeffer. At this time she became acquainted with the subject of infographics and immediately knew that this was what she wanted to do. After an enriching work experience at the weekly newspaper DIE ZEIT, she started to focus her work on infographic and illustration. Since then, she has been working with numerous clients and institutions as a freelance infographic designer and illustrator expanding her knowledge and skills every day.
