In the final book of the BryteCloud Series, Claire Bryte Cloudbegins her book tour and her boyfriend Wenn Girard flies home to Connecticut to oversee preparations for his gallery showing. Wenn has promised to come back to Quaker Meadows in April to ask Claire a very important question. All Claire's other relationships have fallen apart and Claire is worried that something will happen before Wenn returns. Claire's book tour winds through several western states bringing her face to face with Clancey Como, Kim Shepherd and Adam Fishinghawk. She is all too eager to return east to begin the southern leg of her book tour after running into those people from her past. The southern part of her tour takes her to Auburn University where she hopes to see Kevin Thompson and through Atlanta to Wilmington where she hopes not to see Leo Como. She is on her tour on Valentine's Day - the most romantic day of the year. Her brother Colin tells her that if a man can't ante up on his first Valentine's Day with his girl, maybe he's not the right man. Claire travels on to UNC-Pembroke and worries that maybe Wenn has forgotten her. She meets up with another author - Wild Otter - and soon forgets any of the nonsense about the day. After a close brush with Leo Como, Claire returns home where the only person at Quaker Meadows is her orphanage sister - Lily Bright Eyes Carver. Lily is behaving strangely and although Claire is not afraid of Lily, she is very wary of her actions. Things turn upside down the next day and for the next couple of months Quaker Meadows is not a peaceful place. Claire is now worried about the things that are happening around Quaker Meadows; still in her own trusting way she believes things will get better. The next few weeks are the most difficult and at the same time the most wonderful weeks of Claire's young life. The twists and turns of those weeks could never have been anticipated and a less trusting person would simply throw up her hands and give up. Claire Bryte Cloud and her brothers and her family continue to trust that their lives will get better. Is their trust misplaced - it certainly seems so until several simple acts of kindness bring about great changes for all of them.
