This qualitative study was conducted in a state university in Michigan. The purpose of the study was to explore and learn about globalization and its impact on our states educational institution strategies to prepare the post Secondary students for challenges globally competitive work environment. Globalization may have contributed to the idea of disappearing boarders and to the opportunity for a larger participation for production and sale of goods in global marketplace. But globalization is not responsible for our lack of investment in focused ideas of workforce development to help prepare a new generation of workers that are educated, technologically savvy, good communicators, decision makers and problem solvers, able to compete with their counterparts from around the globe. I encourage my colleagues to take a look at the ideas explored in this study. State officials, policy makers, private sector and all interested stakeholders in this topic can benefit and judge the value of the data that only a qualitative study conducted on-site can best clarify. The only constant in todays educational institutions is constant change with little or no results. CTE deserves a second look..
