If the church is to experience racial reconciliation it must be committed to the leadership of the Holy Spirit. This book is a call for racial reconciliation. It tells the story of race relations shrouded in church program activities, church planting and convention resolutions that cannot and has not changed the hearts of people. Our country and churches are as divided today as ever before. Most of the accounts presented in this book are personal experiences and observations in ministry for over 26 years in Alabama Baptist life but not exclusive. It is a story told for all the people of God everywhere at all times. Only when we commit to the Holy Spirit and the Lordship of Jesus Christ will true racial reconciliation take place according to 2 Corinthian, Chapter 5. Leaders are compromising and finding convenient systemic practices and excuses to avoid racial issues. It is apparent that the Gospel of love is not being practiced in congregations. My prayer is that through this resource leaders will be inspired and find freedom to practice the Gospel. Theologically, Jesus said that those who "seek his life shall lose it, but he that lose his life for ... His sake shall find it" (Matthews 16:25). Leaders will find several shared praxis to implement in small and large groups to lose their cultural, social, and economic trappings. In order to come together to be free to witness to a divided and hateful world, Jesus gave us the answer, and the answer is love. If we love one another our differences will disappear. We can embrace this new reality working together to bring about the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven.
