Introduction: the aim of this study is to determine the frequency and the epidemiological, clinical and biological profile of children with HIV infection followed up at the Centre d'Excellence - Unilu. Methodology descriptive cross-sectional study. Our sample was exhaustive, and only children aged 18 months to 15 years were included. Standard statistics were used for data analysis. Results Out of 1,500 PLHIV, 250 were children with HIV (17%); the male-female sex ratio was 0.7; the median age was 84 months (with extremes of 18 months and 180 months); school level was undefined in 49.2%; 29% were orphans of at least one parent; the median age of diagnosis was 72 months; in 46% of cases, children with cough 63% of patients had acute malnutrition of the underweight type, of which 14% were in the severe form, 36.4% in the moderate form and 12.8% in the mild form. In 44% of cases, the disease is in stage III (WHO)Conclusion HIV in children is still a major problem in our environment, and collaboration between medical staff and health partners would be an effective tool in the fight against it.
