The goal of this work is twofold: firstly, to raise students' linguistic competencies and to help them gain greater confidence in their beliefs about their language ability and practical English usage. So, essentially, the content is based on some of the so-called 'conspiracy theories' that are gaining momentum in mainstream society and independent and alternative media outlets, but which are largely ignored by the powerful mass media. The approach of the textbook has been tried and tested. The content of this textbook is different. It is unique. It is a first for the EFL industry. It is hoped that students are inspired to keep learning more and to aim for their dreams, whatever they maybe. As Napoleon Hill said, "whatever the mind of man can conceive and bring itself to believe, it can achieve". Roberto has published and presented extensively in the field of applied linguistics and has authored numerous popular textbooks for independent and large publishers. He helped to establish the first EFL podcast in Japan (in 2003), which at its peak had a global audience of 17,000. He is also a past President of a Toastmasters club.
