This book examines the adequacy and effectiveness or otherwise of the various approaches to conflict resolution as applied in resolving the Africas Great Lakes conflicts. The author examines these issues, not only from the view point of law, but also from a multidisciplinary perspective. The author argues that there is no single and easy solution to conflicts resolution in any particular part of the world. The book provides a much nuanced analysis of the conflict resolution and human rights law tools, making the argument that in order to create durable peace, the approach has to be multifaceted. It augments various efforts so far undertaken to address the root causes of conflicts in the Africas Great Lakes Region generally, and in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in particular and lay the foundations for their resolution and for sustainable peace in the region.

O autorze

Andrew Mollel works as Lecturer of Law at Tumaini University, Iringa Tanzania where he also served as Dean of the Faculty of Law from 2001-2004. He holds LL.B and LL.M Degrees from the University of Dar-es Salaam and Lund University respectively. He received his PhD in International Law, from the University of Eastern Finland in January 2010.
