Transition metals and rare-earth metals co-activated ZnS nanoparticles form a new class of luminescent materials with very strong and stable Visible-light emission. TM and RE doped ZnS nanoparticles find variety of applications in spintronic devices such as spin filters or spin polarizers, solar cells, optoelectronic devices, etc. In order to know the usefulness of the present RE and TM ions doped ZnS nanoparticles, it is proposed to fabricate spintronic based devices and study its performance. The results presented in this work demonstrate that Ce doped ZnS nanoparticles can find many potential applications in spintronic based devices and Ce, Cu co-doped ZnS nanoparticles provide a better reliability of the collected data and find promising applications in biological, medical and have significant potential in the fields of light-emitting displays, catalysis, and optical storage. PVP capped pure, Ce doped and Ce & Cu co-doped ZnS nanoparticles were synthesized using chemical co-precipitation method and systematically characterized the material using structural, morphological, optical, magnetic and electrical studies.
