Liquid crystals (LCs) have shown their importance as a promising materials in various display as well as non-display applications in modern technology. Most of the displays currently available in the market are mainly based on LCs. Among all LC materials available to date, ferroelectric LCs (FLCs) which are the youngest members of LC family, are well known for their good optical contrast, low threshold voltage, memory effect, fast response, etc. Deformed helix FLCs (DHFLCs) are one of the promising FLC materials for electro-optical applications due to their fast electro-optical response. The book intends to bring the attention of researchers in exploring the potential of nano-materials doped LC/FLCs/DHFLCs in other disciplines apart from parent area of LCs, i.e. optical devices, photoluminescent LC displays (LCDs), faster LCDs and memory devices. Particularly, the effect of nano-materials (such as nanoparticles, nanotubes) on the electro-optical properties of DHFLC and their applications have been discussed. These studies can be applied in various disciplines of science and engineering for the fabrication of several devices.
