Hermann Michael Niemann received his doctorate in theology 1980 (Rostock University); Habilitation 1991; he taught at the University of Hamburg (1993) and in Jerusalem (2000, 2002); 1993 Full Professor for Old Testament and Biblical Archaeology at Rostock University; since 2000 member of the Finnish Academy of Science and Literature (Helsinki); since 2009 member of the Evangelische Forschungsakademie (Hannover); main fields of research: history of Ancient Israel; archaeological excavations and surveys in Israel and Turkey.
Hermann Michael Niemann wurde 1980 zum Dr. theol. an der Universität Rostock promoviert; Habilitation 1991; er lehrte an der Universität Hamburg (1993) und in Jerusalem (2000; 2002); seit 1993 Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Altes Testament und Biblische Archäologie an der Universität Rostock; seit 2000 Mitglied der Finnischen Akademie der Wissenschaft und Literatur (Helsinki); seit 2009 Mitglied der Evangelischen Forschungsakademie (Hannover); Forschungsgebiete: Geschichte des antiken Israel und Juda sowie Biblische Archäologie; seit 1995 archäologische Ausgrabungen und Surveys in Israel und der Türkei.
Matthias Augustin received his doctorates in theology in 1980 (Heidelberg University) and in philosophy in 1985 (Osnabrück University); 1989 Habilitation at Rostock University; since 1998 Associate Professor for Old Testament and Jewish Studies at Rostock University.
Matthias Augustin wurde 1980 in Heidelberg zum Dr. theol. und 1985 in Osnabrück zum Dr. phil. promoviert; Habilitation 1989 in Rostock; er lehrt dort seit 1992, seit 1998 als außerplanmäßiger Professor Altes Testament und Jüdische Studien.
