Do you have courage of faith? If you were tied to a stake with kindling and firewood laid up against you and a priest of a foreign religion stood before you with a can of gas and a match and said, "For one last time, admit the error of your way, turn to the true faith, and live " What would you do? Are you willing to take a stand for what you believe to be true? The US is what it is today because of men and women from our past who had the courage to do just that. Now, at a time when political correctness often supersedes personal conviction, we need to ask ourselves that question. Through twelve short stories in two volumes, The Courage of Your Faith tells of people who were faced with the choice-follow their convictions or take the easy way out. Our Baptist history is replete with such points of contention that are still debated today. These stories complement a Bible Study of that same name that can be downloaded from the book's web site. Volume 2 contains six short stories. Starting in 1771, the first story is of the Battle of Alamance, arguably the first battle of the American Revolution. The Revolutionaries touches on the influence Baptists had in having the first amendment added to the Constitution. The Slaves takes place in 1793 Williamsburg and follows the slave pastor of a LARGE church made of both slave and free blacks. The Southern Baptists addresses the divisions that led to the separation of southern Baptists from the northern Baptists. The Missionaries is about Lottie Moon and suffering. The Literalists is about a young man attending Southern Baptist Theological Seminary at the time of the liberal/conservative transition.
