When it is learned that Elvis is losing his voice, Colonel Tom Parker hires a private investigator by the name of Sean Weigel to find the identical twin brother of Elvis that had been reported as having died at birth. Vernon and Gladys Presley, being unable financially to care for twin boys, one of which was sickly, adopted Jesse Garon to a family by the name of Breedlove. They agreed to never attempt to see the boy again, but had passed this information along to Col. Parker when he became Elvis's manager. Having found Jesse and taking him to Hollywood to literally step into Elvis's blue suede shoes, thereby becoming a 'counterfeit Elvis', Weigel is soon up to his neck in an attempt by mobsters to take over several of the Hollywood movie studios. When dead bodies begin turning up and it is learned that Jesse Garon Presley is addicted to drugs, Weigel's work is cut out for him. He has to find out the supplier of Jesse's drugs, plus dodge bullets from those who would stop him from digging into the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and the murder of Marilyn Monroe. The deeper Weigel digs, the more dangerous his investigation becomes. A good read that promises to keep the reader turning pages.
