A month later, Jesi told Jason that she was pregnant and Jeff was stunned by the news that he would be a father soon and after the shock wore off, Jeff became excited and he could hardly wait to welcome his child into the world. Nine months later, Jesi gave birth to twin babies, a baby boy and a baby girl, which she chose to name Mark and Lisa. Coral was excited when the babies were born, but Jesi was a little nervous at first, until an incident happened two weeks after the babies were born. Jesi and Jason were having a picnic lunch in a meadow, when a sudden growl made Jesi look up. To her horrified surprise, a bobcat was standing right next to Mark and Lisa, eying the two babies. Jesi closed her eyes in fear. She opened them again when she heard a much deeper growl and saw Coral advancing towards the bobcat, which backed away from the babies as the bear charged at it. The she bear swiped a massive paw at the bobcat, which hissed back at her. Coral placed herself between the two babies and the bobcat. As the hungry cat paced in a circle, Coral moved with it, always keeping herself between the bobcat and the babies. Jesi went over to the wagon, and got her shotgun. She aimed it at the bobcat and squeezed the trigger. The bobcat leaped into the air, when the bullet hit it, then fled. Jason looked up when he heard the sound. "Jesi, Coral," what's happening," he asked. Jesi reloaded the shotgun before putting it back under the driver's seat. "A bobcat was after the children," she told Jason and Coral showed Jason images of what had happened. Jesi looked at the she bear. "Thank you for protecting the babies, Coral," she said. Coral walked over to Jesi and closed her mouth on Jesi's hand and Jesi stroked the she bear's head, thankful that Coral had been there. When Coral released Jesi's hand, she looked up and said, "You're welcome, Jesi." Jesi gave Coral a big hug, and the she bear nuzzled and licked her hand, in response. Six years later, "Mark, Lisa, we're ready to go now," Jesi called. The two children ran over and climbed into the back of the wagon. They sat down on each side of Jason. Jesi looked at Sparkle and Daylily. The two horses began pulling the wagon and Coral walked beside the wagon. Doll climbed up onto the driver's seat and she chirped at Jesi, who looked down at the squirrel. "Okay, Doll," she said, and the squirrel climbed onto Jesi's shoulder. She gently nuzzled Jesi's ear, which made Jesi start laughing, as the squirrel tickled one ear, then she went to Jesi's other shoulder and nuzzled her other ear. Jason looked up when he heard Jesi laughing. "Doll, are you tickling Jesi again," he asked the squirrel. "Yes, I am," Doll chirped at him. "Please stop, Doll," Jesi gasped between laughs, and the squirrel stopped nuzzling her ears. Doll climbed down Jesi and proceeded to climb onto Jason's leg. He looked down when he felt her sitting on his leg and began to stroke the squirrel. Doll sat up and gently gripped Jason's other hand in her paws. When Jason stopped stroking her, Doll climbed up onto his shoulder and she closed her eyes, falling asleep. When the sun was high in the sky, Daylily and Sparkle pulled the wagon into a meadow and stopped. Jesi jumped down from the wagon and she watched as Jason, Mark and Lisa climbed down off of the wagon. Then Jesi unhooked Sparkle and Daylily from the wagon and the mares rolled on their backs before they began grazing on the tall grass. Jesi and Jason sat down on the ground. Coral walked over and lay down between them. Jason and Jesi both tried stroking the she bear at the same time. Jason let Jesi stroke the she bear first, while Coral held his hand in her mouth. Then Jason began stroking Coral, while the she bear held Jesi's hand in her mouth. When they stopped stroking her, Coral nuzzled them and licked their faces. Jason wrapped his arms around Coral and wrestled with her on the ground.
