'Hidden Intent' is the title of the first story in a book of nine short tales. Most come under the 'mystery' category but one or two are experiential. In the first tale, two teenagers, Poppy and Matt stumble across a terrible secret which leads them along a path of fear and fatality. In the story 'Timebomb', it's a beautiful summer in the market town of Petherington in rural England and everyone is enjoying themselves oblivious of the timebomb that is ticking closeby. Adam is now an old man but he remembers the father he barely knew. In 'No Choice' Adam finally finds the answer to why his father left abruptly in his childhood and never saw his son again. Or did he? In 'Deception' Chris Knowles is convinced he has seen his dead father at a conference. The mystery deepens when he locates his father only to find that his father denies all knowledge of Chris and is adamant Chris is not his son. 'Bitter Sweet' is a touching tale of a divorced couple and the effect the split has on their son. 'The Ragdoll' has a secret that causes enormous distress to Olivia and her family and the story concludes with an unexpected twist. Max Jones is looking forward to his newfound retirement in 'The Letter' but when he receives a letter from an unknown sender his whole life begins to turn upside down. In 'The Flight' passengers going on holiday to Lanzarote experience a bit of turbulence; what happens next to some of the passengers is totally unexpected. 'The Affair' - Sarah wakes up to find her husband is not in bed with her and this is not the first time that has happened. When Jackie turns up with some other surprising news, Sarah begins to wonder quite what is going on.
