Lamby Boy, Kinning Park began a long time ago and was always in my mind for a number of years. I think what sparked it off was the fact that when my son and daughter were younger and being "Aussies" they would always from time to time ask: "What was it like in Glasgow when you were a little boy?"; "Where did you live?"; "Which school did you go to?"; Where did you and mum meet?"; "What were my grandfather and grandmother and the rest of the family like?" And so with all these questions and all the information I had stored in my head over the years I started to record some of the events, especially the part of my childhood growing up at 32 Lambhill Street Kinning Park, which I had always so many fond memories of. While visiting my daughter in Albury/Wodong, near the border of New South Wales and Victoria in Australia in February 2004, I decided it was time to put pen to paper in earnest and record my childhood memories, immigrating to Canada, meeting my wife, and some of the traveling in the nomadic 60's that we did across Canada, the East Coast of USA, through Central America to Panama, New Zealand, Australia, Germany and now living in Australia, most probably like the thousands of other nomadic Glasgow folks before and after me.
