J. Galluzzo (Columbia, SC) is a Human Resources strategic professional and leader with nearly 25 years of experience. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the HR Certification Institute. He graduated from Clarkson University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Mathematics. Upon graduation he entered into military service as an officer in the United States Army with assignments in various duty locations over his distinguished career. In 2007, he earned a Master of Business Administration from National University in California. During his service, he discovered his true professional calling in the human resources branch of the Army, the Adjutant General s Corps. He held several HR positions of increasing responsibility during his tenure, finally culminating as Chief of Leadership Development for the 40,000 Army HR professionals around the world before his retirement in 2014. He was instrumental in establishing the partnership between the HR Certification Institute and the Army to help military HR professionals seeking civilian credentials as they transitioned from service into civilian work. He continues his professional relationship with HRCI as a panelist and volunteer in projects to strengthen the HR profession. He has been an Adjunct Professor teaching leadership and business and in 2015 he created HRJ Strategies, LLC to support organizations and individuals seeking to improve their human capital potential. His areas of specialty are strategic HR planning and organizational leadership development. He is currently the Director of Human Resources for SC Housing, the state housing finance agency in South Carolina, where he has worked for the past three years.
