Action/Adventure Mainstream Novel Jabe Rainwater never had any intention of battling the entire North American illegal drug trade all by himself. Even further from his mind is how he might bring that whole business to its knees -- until he is targeted for assassination and has to run for his life. Bad Medicine is the story of a reluctant but capable pueblo Indian, an ex-Navy Seal who has been framed and blackmailed into flying illegal drug shipments up from Columbia. The tale is set in modern times in the Yucatan, South Texas and New Mexico. Rainwater has to take back his home pueblo from a clandestine drug ring that is building a landing strip for huge transports on the reservation. In doing so, they are destroying the Indian culture and a way of life that has continued unaltered for 10,000 years. But, in reclaiming his home he has to bring down the mysterious "El Jefe," the man who personally controls the North American illegal narcotics coming up from South America. And, El Jefe is a very high official in the government of the United States. What's worse, he is building a war-chest for the upcoming Presidential election and is favored to win. In order to avert tragedy, his Tribe's as well as his own, Jabe has to employ all the "old-time savvy" he learned from his Grandfather Longrifle when he was a child on the reservation. The action moves like lightning from Texas to a fire-fight in the Yucatan jungle, a confrontation with the U.S. Navy, and then back to New Mexico and an international showdown between Superpowers -- Native American Homeland Security against U.S. nuclear muscle.
