As a result, it provides an excellent, readable overview of a very complex area of international law. This volume covers not only traditional law-of-the-sea areas, such as Straits, the Territorial Sea, Continental Shelf, High Seas, Marine Living Resources, and the Regime of Islands, but also some of the more recently-developed regimes, such as the Exclusive Economic Zone, the International Seabed Area, Landlocked States, Marine Scientific Research, and the Settlement of Maritime Disputes.
