Dr Jessica Meyer is Associate Professor of Modern British History at the University of Leeds. A social and cultural historian, her research interests lie at the intersection of the histories of gender, conflict, and care. She also works on the history of popular culture, representation, and the memory of war. She is the author of Men of War: Masculinities and the First World War in Britain (2009). She is also co-editor, with Heather Ellis, of Masculinity
and the Other: Historical Perspectives (2009), and editor of British Popular Culture and the First World War (2008).
