Spiritual life is not a separate category at Fresno Pacific University-it is intricately woven through majors, classes, dorms, athletics, Bible studies, music groups, clubs, intramurals, drama, friendships, ministries...and the list goes on. At the conclusion of this book, the student should be able to articulate and demonstrate that he or she has gained understanding of Christianity and the competencies necessary for leadership and soul care, in the following Areas: Students will be able to critically articulate contemporary Christian faith practices and values, missional ideas and perspectives. Students will be able to share the good news of the gospel. Students will develop and cultivate a personal soul care plan, and best practices for a life of personal witnessing. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ through self-awareness, reflection, worship, and Bible study. Students will develop a Christ-centered understanding of ethnic, gender, and socio-economic diversity through discourse, dialogue, and self-discovery. Students will engage in reconciliation in diverse communities through participation in educational programs and through the establishing of broad relationships Students will apply a biblical framework for God's mission in the world through various ministry opportunities locally and globally. Students desiring to enhance their skills in leadership, evangelism, discipleship or urban missions will enjoy learning in the OSF. Chapel services covering a wide range of topics will be scheduled at suitable times to provide Christian leaders with on-going resources and skills' to meet ministry challenges and demands of the local Church. In addition to this multi-cultural events held on the beautiful campus of Fresno Pacific University will be conducted, at which renowned speakers and workshop leaders will deepen student's desires for God, and His Word. Students will be challenged to address contemporary issues in Christianity and in the life of the church. The student will discover that the leadership institute is one that encourages students to have a passion for serving Christ and His kingdom throughout the world. Learning from a diverse schedule of speakers, and witnessing the talents and gifts of artist from the Faith Community will make learning and sharing very impactful. Through a blended delivery system, online and face to face contacts, student bible studies and interactive readings, the student will encounter Christ through a broad range of voices, personalities and experiences. Students can expect to have an energetic, dynamic encounter with the biblical text and personal encounter in the learning community.
