This volume includes not only obituaries of residents of the Buffalo and Erie County area (1812-1880), but those of many former residents who had moved out of the area. These obituaries, abstracted from the holdings of the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society, are arranged in alphabetical order by the name of the deceased. Each entry gives residence of deceased, place and date of death and age. Most entries name family relationships; some give cause of death. Many persons moved west but originally resided in Erie County.
