The objective of this project is to make a fuzzy expert system by using fuzzy logic, for the prediction of non-linear and complex characteristics of a variable compression engine (VCR) performance and engine emissions. The performance and emissions of engines were studied. The performance parameters such as specific fuel consumption (SFC), brake thermal efficiency (BTE), and emission levels of HC, CO, and NOx were compared by changing compression ratio, blend and brake power.
